Support Alex's Recovery

Early Monday morning, June 5th 2017, my dad was in a terrible car accident. From what we know, he was traveling north bound on I35 and crashed into a broken down vehicle in the middle lane. Unable to avoid the vehicle my dads car plowed into it. The abulance was able to get him to the nearest hospital in just the right amount of time. My dad suffered a ruptured artery, ruptured colon, ruptured diaphragm, broken leg, broken and displaced hip, shattered hip, separation of the abdominal wall and severe internal bleeding/blood loss. By the time that he got to the OR, the amount of blood loss was so significant that his bowel had already began shutting down. They ended up having to remove his right colon, appendix, and portions of his intestines. The diaphragm was able to be repaired and he was entubated and remains that way under heavy sedation. He has been in the ICU under the watch a some wonderful critical care and trauma nurses and doctors for a few days now and will remain here until all of his vitals are where they need to be. We are starting our journey down a long graveled path and will need all the support of family and friends that we can get. Everyone has been so helpful and kind these past few days and we would like everyone to know that we appreciate your support very much.
