On August 4th, my daughter Alexia or Charlie to most started having problems walking, and after a week of tests, it was determined she has neurological damage caused by the West Nile virus. At 23, her life has been turned upside down and the hits just keep coming. She has to completely learn how to walk again and has limited use of her hands. Drs say it could be a year or more to hopefully get back to 80 percent of normal strength. She cannot return to her 2nd story apartment, and insurance isn't covering long-term inpatient physical therapy. She is going to need in-home care and a new place to live that's more wheelchair accessible. We are hoping to get her through this without losing too much of what she has worked so hard for over a mosquito.
