Support Alberto Luis In His Recovery

It is with a heavy heart that we as the family of Alberto Luis Ortega are reaching out to our friends, acquaintances and community to ask for your help in supporting our son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend during the aftermath of a terrible tragedy that took place on this past January 15th, 2024. Alberto Luis became the victim of a senseless act of violence. Alberto Luis being the selfless and kind person he is known to be was helping someone in need during the time of the tragedy.

At the young age of 23, he was shot multiple times to his chest causing him to be paraplegic and to lose the function of various vital body functions. Despite of this prognosis, as a family, we remain faithful and pray every day for a miracle because we trust that what may seem to be impossible for man is possible for God.

As of now, the devastating reality is that Alberto Luis will never walk again and will not be able to carryout the many dreams that at his short age he had planned. He dreamt of becoming an athlete and trained daily to become the best soccer player he prepped and hoped to be.

Alberto Luis’ parents traveled from Colombia and brought their little boy at the age of 13 with big dreams and hopes of a better future for him chasing the American dream as many do. Little did they know this tragedy would change their lives forever just ten years down the line, crushing all the ideas and dreams they had envisioned not long ago.

Our goal with this fundraiser is simple, it’s to rally together to support Alberto Luis’ recovery. The money raised will go directly towards medical bills and crucial modifications to make his home handicap accessible. Your generous contribution will not only alleviate the financial burden on our family, but also provide us with the resources needed to navigate the new challenges we face.

Con mucha tristeza, nosotros, la familia de Alberto Luis Ortega nos dirigimos a nuestros amigos, conocidos y comunidad para pedirles su ayuda para apoyar a nuestro hijo, hermano, sobrino, primo y amigo durante el peor momento que hemos enfrentado como familia. Después de la terrible tragedia que tuvo lugar el pasado 15 de enero del 2024 donde Alberto Luis fue víctima de un cruel acto de violencia. Quienes conocen a Alberto Luis saben que el es una persona desinteresada, amable y servicial, y esta desgracia sucedió justamente cuando estaba ayudando a alguien que lo necesitaba.

A tan solo 23 años de edad recibió varios disparos en el pecho, los cuales causaron danos irreparables dejándolo parapléjico y a su vez perdiendo varias funciones vitales de su cuerpo. A pesar de este diagnostico mantenemos nuestra fe y oramos sin cesar esperando un milagro porque sabemos que para Dios no hay nada imposible.

Por el momento la devastadora realidad es que Alberto Luis nunca más volverá a caminar y no podrá realizar los sueños que a su corta edad se había planteado como un deportista que entrenaba a diario para convertirse en el futbolista que se preparaba y esperaba ser.

Los padres de Alberto Luis viajaron desde Colombia y trajeron a su pequeño a la corta edad de 13 años con grandes sueños y esperanzas de un futuro mejor para él, persiguiendo el sueño americano como muchos lo hacen. No sabían que esta tragedia cambiaría sus vidas para siempre 10 años después aplastando todas las ideas y sueños que habían imaginado no hace mucho.

Nuestro objetivo es unirnos para apoyar la recuperación de Alberto Luis. El dinero recaudado se destinará directamente a facturas médicas y modificaciones cruciales para que su hogar sea accesible para discapacitados. Su generosa contribución no sólo aliviará la carga financiera de su familia, sino que también les proporcionará los recursos necesarios para afrontar los nuevos desafíos que enfrentan.
