Support Music Education for Alabama Students!

Tax deductible
Hi, my name is Bella Triplett, and I am a junior at Vestavia Hills High School in Alabama. Ever since I can remember, music has been part of my soul. Music was there in my darkest times as I battled deep depression. Expressing myself through music truly brought a light into my life again. Everyone deserves to have a chance at happiness, and I found mine through music.

In talking to music teachers and students from other schools in Alabama, I learned that funding for the arts and music is often sparse or nonexistent. To me, music education is just as important as subjects like math and science. When the arts are more prominent in schools, students are more successful in both standardized testing and in life. While the belief that the arts are essential has gone up, the number of students receiving arts and music education has gone down. I want to make a lasting change. That is why I decided to partner with Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA) to raise funds for music educators in the state. AMEA promotes the advancement of music education in Alabama by encouraging music activities and recognizing music as an integral part of the school curriculum and child development. You can visit their website here: https://myamea.org/ #ala4musiced

After conversations with Dr. Rob Lyda, President-elect for AMEA, I decided to kickstart this fundraiser to create a scholarship fund for Alabama students interested in music. 100% of the funds raised here will be donated directly to AMEA to support Alabama students. My goal is to provide funding that will give students the opportunity to have an education that incorporates music and creativity into everyday life. Every child in this country has the right to an arts education, and music in particular - the arts are NOT extra-curricular - they are ESSENTIAL to every child's education, growth, and happiness. Thank you for your consideration!
