As many of you know, the Association for Art Museum Interpretation (AAMI) is starting 2020 as a newly minted non-profit organization.
After the work of exceptional colleagues before and since the first informal meeting in Baltimore 2013, a precedent was set and a need identified—annual meetings to share and cultivate best practices in interpretive planning. But each year, the network of colleagues kept growing and a new possibility emerged—what if we were an organization that supports field-wide practice?
Many people came behind that bold challenge and, in 2019, AAMI became registered as a non-profit organization.
With the process of formalization have come start-up costs, and we are asking for your support to launch AAMI on the positive side of the ledger.
We hope to raise $2100. Since we are not yet tax deductible (the federal filing counts among those start-up costs), we are asking for small contributions. As little as $15-$20 will go a long way toward reaching our $2100 goal.
