100km for 100 bales

A little about myself.
Hi, My name's Cash and I'm originally born in a small island in The Caribbean known as Aruba. Not much comes from Aruba however it is well known for being a Honeymoon destination. Now for the past few years I have been living in Thailand where I have gotten to love the sport of trail running. I used to do a bit of running at university but it wasn't until arriving in Chiang Mai where I really enjoyed exploring my backyard. I signed up to races and began enjoying the thrill that came with it! I slowly began to build my distance and now I've run over marathon distance!

I've recently decided to step up my game and I signed up for the Hong Kong 100 this January! I'm not sure if I'm ready for it but along my training journey I will be running another 38km distance race and a 70km distance race!

Because this is a big step for me, physically and mentally, I decided I needed some serious motivation.

So I thought to myself, what if I run for a charity and get people to sponsor. That way i'll feel really bad if I let a bunch of people down!

A little about the charity.
Also on Aruba is a small equine sanctuary  that looks after any horse/donkey/pony that has been abused, unwanted, or neglected. This sanctuary works with the environment and the local community to keep the animals well. However, it can be a struggle to receive enough barrels of hay for these equines. Part of the reason is because it's expensive to buy barrels of hay, and the other part is because of the lack of knowledge on equines on topics such as their eating and living habits which make people less inclined to support such initiatives.

A little about the challenge.
So, with your help and support I'd like to raise funds to provide the equines with a comfortable amount of hay.

1 bale of hay is roughly 25EUR or 850THB. I plan to run all 100km of the Hong Kong Ultra. Therefore I'm aiming to donate 100 bales of hay = 2500EUR (85,000THB)!

It's a lot but I'll make a deal with you. If I reach (or pass) my target of 2500 EUR then I'll add in these conditions:

If I complete the race I'll add on another 10 bales (I won't run the extra 10km though).

For each kilometer I don't make I will buy a bale. So, for example, if I drop out at kilometer 20 I will donate an extra 2,000EUR (67,000THB).

My deadline will be race day, 18th of January, 2020. I'll accept funds until then but in the meantime you can follow my progress in training through my Youtube channel  as well as my instagram feed ! I'll also keep updating this space!

You'll probably also be able to follow me through the run somewhere online! I'll post the info up once it's available but for now check out the website!
