Una mano per Lev Chadash

L’Associazione per l’Ebraismo Progressivo Sinagoga Lev Chadash  di Milano è la prima comunità progressivo riformata nata in Italia nel 1999 sulla spinta di rav David Golberg zt”l e costituita ufficialmente nel marzo 2001. Con attualmente circa 240 membri, oltre a regolari funzioni religiose settimanali e in occasione di tutte le festività, nella nostra sede vengono organizzate conferenze, incontri , dibattiti, corsi per adulti e bambini. Una intensa attività, unita a una riconosciuta propensione all’accoglienza, che viene sostenuta dai soli membri. Infatti, Lev Chadash non conta su alcun supporto istituzionale.

I programmi di Lev Chadash sono piuttosto ambiziosi e puntano a migliorare la propria sede – e magari acquistarne una più spaziosa – permettendo di aumentare il numero e la qualità dei servizi per i nostri membri, soprattutto per i più giovani e le famiglia, aprendoli anche al quartiere.

Attualmente, con grande nostra soddisfazione il nostro punto di riferimento religioso è rav Sylvia Rothschild che tanto ha contribuito a consolidare e sviluppare la nostra comunità, con le sue visite periodiche da Londra. Visite che si sono dovute interrompere a causa della pandemia. Ma anche in questo difficile momento rav Sylvia ci è stata, e continua a esserci, assolutamente e costantemente vicina, supportando anche la studente rabbina Martina Yehudit Loreggian che, al terzo anno del Leo Baeck College, alla fine del suo percorso di formazione, come ci auguriamo, diventerà la prima leader religiosa ebraico progressiva italiana operante stabilmente nel nostro Paese.

Ma anche questo traguardo lo potremo raggiungere solo con uno sforzo che difficilmente riusciremo a fare da soli.

The Association for Progressive Judaism Lev Chadash Synagogue of Milan is the first progressive reformed community born in Italy in 1999 on the thrust of rav David Golberg zt ''l and officially found in March 2001. Currently Lev Chadash counts about 240 members, and in addition to regular weekly and holiday religious services we organise conferences, meetings, debates, courses for adults and children at our synagogue. An intense activity, combined with a well-known welcoming aptitude, financially supported only by our members. Indeed, Lev Chadash does not count on any institutional monetary support.

Lev Chadash's programs are quite ambitious, we aim to improve our centre and synagogue - and perhaps buy a more spacious one - allowing us to increase the number and quality of services for our members, especially for the youngest ones and families, and also letting us opening the events also to the neighbourhood and the colourful Milanese communities. 

Currently, to our great satisfaction, our religious reference point is rav Sylvia Rothschild who has contributed so much to consolidate and develop our community, with her periodic visits from London. Unfortunately, these visits had to be interrupted due to the pandemic. But even in this difficult moment, Sylvia was, and continues to be, absolutely and constantly close to us, also supporting the student rabbi Martina Yehudit Loreggian who is now taking on the third year of Leo Baeck College, and whom we hope, at the end of her training, will become the first Italian progressive Jewish religious leader permanently operating in our country.
