Knights of Columbus Hospital Equipment Lend Program (KC HELP) in the Tri-Cities collects and redistributes medical equipment for those in need. Standard hospital equipment includes crutches, wheelchairs, lift chairs, bath and shower chairs, walkers, canes, hospital beds, over the bed tables, portable bathroom equipment, and much more.
New medical equipment comes with a high price tag and is often only needed for temporary recovery periods or illnesses. KC HELP serves to address the gaps of this system by collecting donations of quality equipment that is no longer needed or used and then providing that equipment back to the community without any cost or obligation.
KC HELP staff even help with transporting, assembling, and disassembling equipment in your home.
As you might imagine, demand for this community service has been HUGE, and KC HELP is trying to expand to meet needs.
To reach more communities in need at greater distances, KC HELP is hoping to raise funds to purchase an 18' cargo trailer, similar to the one pictured. Any extra funds will be applied toward pending projects to improve the safety and effectiveness of the KC HELP facility, including door repairs, lighting upgrades, and more.
