Support 7yr Old Victim of Senseless Drive-By Shooting

Meet Royder Lopez Alvarado, a joyful and cheerful child who loves to play with his brothers.

On April 14, while walking home with his mom after visiting the playground. Two cars engaged in a pursuit drove past, one vehicle started shooting at the other. Everyone in the vicinity duck for cover, soon after Royder felt something in his lower back which he initially thought to be a rock, it turned out to be a bullet that had bounced on the concrete and subsequently hit him. He quickly fell down and asked his mom to help him walk. His mother understood something was wrong, she turned him over to check for any wound and she found the bullet had priced his lower back. She started screaming for help, when a tall bystander called 911. Emergency first responders arrived at the scene within minuted and quickly rushed him into the Hospital.

Once at the hospital the medical team of doctors were immediately appraise of the situation and performed life saving surgery. Pediatric Orthopedic doctors were called in to survey any damaged to his spine. Luckily the damaged had been to contained to the large intestine which had suffer two piercing. Once the surgery had taken place and Ryder remained in stable condition, it was explained to the mother Royder had an ostomy placed on this body since his movement is very limited. Doctors explained the road to recovery could be several weeks long and the pain will remain throughout the process, only aided by medicine.

Police Investigators had reassured the family that all leads will be followed and no stone unturned in their search for the suspects of this atrocity.

As for Royder, all he wants is to recover, walk and run normally as he used to. He looks forward to the day he can play football with all his brothers like before.
