Hello everyone! After three and a half years, we're finally doing it! We're getting married!
Now we know what you're thinking:
"They're not even engaged yet!"
"How dare they?!"
"What is the airpseed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
And to those questions, we have answers!
Yes, we know we're not engaged yet, but we're hardly a traditional couple, so doing things in the "traditional" way never appealed to us anyway. We do plan on getting "properly" engaged at some point before the wedding, but we like to keep an air of mystery so we're not going to tell you when!
We dare to get married because we're in love and it just feels right. Since first meeting in October of 2012, we've grown to love and care for each other more than we ever thought was possible for either of us. We faced many obstacles along the way, but we've overcome them and have come out stronger and even more in love on the other side. Being unable to imagine our lives without each other, we decided that getting married would be a beautiful (and more importantly, public) way of declaring our love.
And finally, to the third question... African or European?
Now for the boring part: the budget. Being as smart as we are, we knew we wouldn't be able to afford an extravagent wedding. Also being fans of keeping it simple, we wanted to have as affordable a budget as possible. After doing some calculating we've concluded that we can input about $1000 of our own money (without taking out loans and without borrowing from our moms). This is where you guys come in!
We know times are tight. We know budgets are already stretched thin. We aren't asking for much; whatever you can give, however much you feel like giving, we would greatly and truly appreciate it. And there will be incentives for donating just a little bit more! We're wanting to have the wedding in early November, so hopefully we will have raised the funds by then!
Again, we really can't express how grateful we are to everyone who donates to help us out on our special day. Any and all help is immensely appreciated.
