Super Camp is a Summer Leadership Academy and is a program of the GrassROOTS Community Foundation (GCF) Seedlings & Leaves initiatives. GCF is a public health and social action organization that supports, develops and scales health and wellness programs for women and girls, particularly those who are impoverished.  Please help us develop strong leaders and healthy girls.
Your investment will help a SuperGirl:

1. BE SOCIAL ACTIVISTS
SuperGirls learn how to use her passion to create a change in her community.
SuperGirl Marley created the #1000BlackGirlBooks social action project after growing frustrated by the lack of books where black girls are the main character.

SuperGirl Briana created #RoomForChange to provide a beautiful space for youth who do not have a permanent place to call home.

2.
MAKE LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS
SuperGirls form a community of belonging & friendship.
"GrassROOTS' Super Camp is a sisterhood of black girl titans."
- Jamaica Gilmer, Founder of The Beautiful Project

3.
BECOME ENTREPRENEURS & LEADERS
Caroline Clarke, Black EnterpriseSuperGirls are mentored by black female leaders and enterpreneurs– Trailblazers. These women are successful leaders in Finance, Arts, Science and Technology (F.A.S.T.). "I loved going to Philadelphia to meet Ms. Rakia Reynolds at Skai Blue Media.  I learned how the business came to be because I want to own my own business one day." - Brielle, Super Camp Seedlings (2014)

4. LOVE WHO SHE IS & WHERE SHE COMES FROM

SUPER CAMP teaches girls about their African identity. Girls study historic and biographical women leaders and practice Kemetic Yoga.

"Super Camp helped me learn about my inner self and my heritage."
- Marley, Super Camp Seedlings Graduate (2011-14)

Invest in Girl Leadership
Your investment in a SuperGirl is 100% Tax Deductible. Every $10 = 1 hour camp.   Super Camp educates, protects and teaches girls to reconnect with their African identities, to explore F.A.S.T. careers and to build lifelong bonds of sisterhood. Please help us give away 15 full scholarsips to a well deserving New Jersey girl. Help us develop strong leaders and healthy girls.

“After reaching out to express interest, GrassROOTS Community Foundation learned of our plight and offered Simone an amazing grant that allowed her to attend Super Camp and didn’t financially strain us.  We felt a sense of community & commitment to helping young girls from the onset."
- Enoch & Gabrielle Smith, Super Camp Parents (2012-13)
