The UN-FUNDRAISER
YYYAAASSSSSS! The BEST Fundraiser EVER!
The Summit PTO is kicking off a new kind of fundraiser to replace our traditional magazine sale.
What? No magazine sales this year? That’s right! Why? Because of what you don’t have to do.
· No walking door-to-door to sell stuff to your neighbors.
· No time required to upload emails.
· No postcards to mail to your family.
Is it really that easy to do? Yes. Easy. Peasy. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Summit Middle School—no fundraising company to take a portion of the profits. * and if we meet our goal, we won't ask for additional monetary donations again this year!!
How are the dollars used? The funds will be used in many ways throughout the year, like teachers grants, teacher appreciation, and school supplies for students in need. With a majority of the funds going to our newest program called Funds for Fitness. And BONUS, if we raise enough money, we will also cover our spring Community Day activity of Meals from the Heartland.
Funds for Fitness: The addition of two new physical education teachers at Summit MS gives the PE Department the opportunity to continue to shift to lifetime fitness activities. This includes upgrading equipment, modifying current activities, and increasing student voice and choice. The funds will go to support our PE teachers as they SHAPE standards for PE and Health. And with your help, they can implement their ideas with new and exciting equipment.
Meals from the Heartland: Every other year the kids will take part in packaging meals for malnourished people in Iowa, the United States and the world. Feed the hungry, volunteer!! They will learn about what it means to contribute to our Community. We will plan some fun activities for the kids during spring, like a coin drive and school social, but if we raise enough money during this UN-FUNDRAISER, we won’t be asking for more donations from the parents!!
The idea is to make this the only fundraiser for the year. Really. We won’t bug you again if we reach our goal.
Is there any fun? Absolutely! As we meet these totals, the students (and parents) will be able to celebrate:
· $15,000 Food Trucks with treats for the kids during school hours on September 27th, one treat selection per student
· $20,000 Pie in the face of Mr. Billings and Mr. Chadwick
· $25,000 Students shave Mr. Stratton’s head (new associate principal)
· $28,000 No more fundraising requests for students (or parents) for the rest of the year

*GoFundMe has very insignificant processing fees and of course we have to pay credit card processing fees, etc, but the fees are very minimal.
