Summer and her family need your help!!

Summer is my sister's 5 year old Great Pyrenees and while I was visiting my sister in South Carolina this weekend to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday, on my last night there, Summer was the victim of bloat which is a horrible, painful and deadly condition.
It was Saturday afternoon/evening and she was not well and was drooling a bit earlier in the evening- which she sometimes does. However, later that evening she was still not herself, not eating and lethargic and we noticed that her abdomen was extremely hard. Suspecting bloat, but not really thinking this could possibly happen, we called a 24 hour emergency vet and I went with my sister to bring Summer in.
They took her back immediately and after an x-ray discovered that her stomach had indeed turned and she was suffering. The immediate decision had to be made between euthanasia or to undergo and expensive and extensive surgery. She was in a life or death situation.
My sister and her husband made the quick decision, as every minute counts in this scenario, to have Summer undergo surgery, not knowing how they were going to actually pay for this which is estimated to be$7,000 to $9,000 total cost including her emergency room care. The thoughts of saying goodbye were just too much to bear. She is a much loved member of their family and is still in the prime of her life. Nothing they did caused the bloat. It is a condition that can commonly affect large breed dogs and large chested dogs and can come on suddenly with no clear reasons as to why or when it will happen.
Summer had this surgery in the wee hours of the night and made it through surgery. She did have to have her spleen removed but her stomach appeared to be bruised but not yet necrotic . She will remain in the hospital for a few more days. She is not out of the woods yet but we are praying everyday. I am back in New Hampshire and have their permission to start a GoFundMe account for them.
If anybody feels inclined or is able to donate that would be beyond appreciated. Prayers are also important as she is not out of the woods yet and won't be for a few more days while she remains in the care of the people at the hospital.
She is an important part of their family and they will do whatever it takes to help Summer recover and live the rest of her life surrounded by love.

I have some unbelievably tragic news. Summer passed away late yesterday evening. She turned septic and her prognosis was not good. My sister and her family made the heart wrenching decision to let her go. I will leave the fundraiser up to help with the vet expenses and to possibly help awareness of this awful medical condition. There is a procedure that can be done to dogs that are prone to this condition that, according to the vet, is as simple as a spay. It is called gastroplexy. If you are concerned that your pet may be prone to this, please talk to your vet about it. Please, include my sister and her family in your prayers and pass this along to anyone you know with a large chested breed. It may save them and their family the heartache that my sister and her family are going through.
