Summer Academic and Soccer Fitness Program

Metropolitan Futbol Club has being organizing youth soccer and educational programs, mentoring soccer players, and hosting Summer Camps in Prince George's County, Maryland for twenty-two years. Our mission than and still today is  "Creating Opportunity through Education and Soccer".

BUCK LODGE MIDDLE SCHOOL


From 1998 to 2014, we organized a four week Summer Soccer Camp at Buck Lodge Middle School in Adelphi, Maryland.  Our camps have attracted thousands of immigrant kids from the Adelphi and Hyattsville community throughout the years

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND


Our Summer program moved to the University of Maryland in College Park, MD during the Summer of 2015. Under the direction of Dr. Ronal Luna, The Academic Soccer Achievement Program(ASAP) was born. Our newly created program ran for ten weeks from 2015 - 2017 and for four weeks from 2018 - 2019. Students were taught Math and Languages Arts in the morning, and played soccer in the afternoon.

WASHINGTON EDUCATION ZONE

During the Summer of 2018, our organization opened our first Academic Center on the upper level of the Wagner Center at The Washington Education Zone in Lanham, MD. Our three classroom center, which attracted students from Lanham, Glen Dale and Bowie, offered a  six week Summer program

All academic classes will have two options

Option 1     In-house at our Academic Center in Lanham
Option 2 -  At home program via ZOOM


WE NEED YOUR HELP

Metropolitan Futbol Club is reaching out to you, the community, the soccer community, the MFC community, for donations as we prepare for our 23rd year of organizing Summer Programs in the county. 

 While we wait for the updated guidelines to be finalized from the Governor's office regarding camps this Summer, and our current  cash flow severely impacted by the cancellation of the 2020 Spring soccer seson,  we need your  help paying  outstanding bills and current expenses as we prepare for our 2020 Summer Academic Enrichment and Soccer Fitness Programs  

Outstanding Bills and Expenses

1)  Past due and current rent for our Academic Center on the upper level of The Wagner Center
2)  Rental of additional field space to accommodate social distancing for our in-house Summer Academic Program
3)  Security deposits for field usage
4)  Liability insurance covering students attending in-house camp and soccer/fitness program.
5)  Printing expense for the distribution of our Summer Academic Enrichment Program  Packages 
6)  Hiring and training of teacher(s) for our at-home  ZOOM Summer Academic Enrichment Program
