Suki Socks for Paradise Fire Recovery

Donation protected
Suki (my dog) & I live in Juneau, Alaska and didn’t have any solid Thanksgiving plans. I wanted to go to Chico/Paradise to do something but I knew that going for a few days over Thanksgiving was going to help me with my life more than I would help anyone else.  That’s when I came up with this idea for the socks.  Hopefully the sock donations will add some value to the people displace by this tragic situation.  There are thousands of men, women & children that have lost their homes and many are now living in tents.

It is dropping down to 34 degrees tonight (Sunday, November 18) and suppose to start raining on Wednesday.  They don’t have dryers and everyone likes dry feet.  I thought I would bring socks from Juneau so they can cycle through their pairs while they are waiting for their others to dry out.

Some of you wanted to help but couldn’t get socks to me by this Wednesday so I started this Go Fund Me page to address those who wanted to help from a distance.

Even $5 or $10 will buy socks, so skip your coffee and buy some socks for those that have lost much of what we will be thankful for this Thursday.

I will use 100% of the money donated to buy socks for the people displaced by the fire.  If I am told that no new socks are needed anymore, then I will donate the rest of the money to the Red Cross.  I will also cover the Go Fund Me cost for the transactions out of my pocket and save all receipts if anyone would like an accounting.

Thanks for your consideration and have a great Thanksgiving.  Suki and I leave Wednesday morning.
