Hi my name is Carly Winsauer - as many of you may know we unexpectedly lost Maison to suicide May of 2020. Mais was my best friend - he was compassionate about anything he did, friendly to family and strangers, and fought for the people he loved. He lived an adventurous life - fishing every chance he could, camping with only a small tent and one blanket in 40 degree weather, and absolutely killing the slopes the first time he rode a snowboard. He wanted the best for you and he would do anything he could to help you. My time with him was cut way too short but I am thankful for the memories that he left me with. The memory of him teaching me how to drive stick, the memory of catching my very first fish, the memory of singing Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, or even the memory of him attempting to do a back flip off the trampoline just to land straight into my mom's tree. There are so many memories. Suicide has not only impacted myself and my loved ones, but many others. The unspoken words, the empty chair at the table, and our loved ones who left too soon, deserve our support and for our voices to be heard. Suicide needs to be talked about and stories need to be told, so we can help others and show our loved ones that their life is worth it.

With the help of my family, and many friends, we raised over $700 that went to the National Suicide Hotline last year and for that I am forever grateful - This year for my birthday the donations will go to the National Suicide Hotline AND Mental Health America. Both organizations are great resources for people struggling with mental health and will help future people with emotional crisis + survivors of suicide.
