Study Abroad for Spanish Degree

Hello! My name is Jake Burney, and I am currently a senior at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. I am currently seeking degrees in English and Spanish. I will be finishing my English degree this semester; however, I am planning to study abroad in Argentina this summer to finish my Spanish degree. As a single-parent-student who has previously studied abroad in Argentina during the summer of 2016, I have experienced the many challenges that come with funding the trip. Currently, I am working as the assistant recruiter for Study Abroad Argentina, so I have been rewarded some funding; however, I am still in need of more financial support. About 2 weeks ago, I wrote a proposal to the university and received enough money to cover 20 students for a 3 night, 4 day excursion to the capital city of Buenos Aires. Though the grant money is not for my personal use, it will be utilized to cover the cost for each student to experience immersion at its best in Buenos Aires. The main reason for writing the grant and asking for assistance is simply because I love every aspect of Latin American culture, so any funds that can be given to assist me in my journey are much appreciated and will never be forgotten.
