Students Fighting for Equity and Justice

Students around the nation are rising up and taking a stand for racial equity, gender equality and social justice. We are honored to be working with a group of high school students in Novato, CA, made up of impassioned BIPOC students and compassionate allies.
These students are seizing this moment of social unrest to demand and lead in making real change in their communities and their schools. They are young activists stepping up and responsibly organizing and mobilizing to make positive shifts toward racial and gender equity and social justice for all.
The goals for this group are: 1) educate and inform staff and students; 2) create safe spaces for all community members; 3) educate all NUSD administrators, staff, students and community members in order to unify as an anti-racist community; 4) lift voices of students on our school campuses in support of anti-racist structures and beliefs.
Funds will be contributed to seed money for other fundraisers, purchases geared toward marketing, sponsoring educational events, donating money to student efforts or organizations with similar and relevant purposes, guest speakers, training opportunities, scholarships for educational fieldtrips, etc.
These young voices are rising up from our most recent devastating events and ongoing harm done to them and their respective communities. They are stepping powerfully into their leadership and activism! Your contribution will not only provide them with funds to be impactful and move closer to their goals: you may in fact be contributing to generations of students who will fill their seats in more conscious classrooms and socially and emotionally safer academic spaces, as well as sponsoring world change makers "Straight Out of Novato".
