Student In Need of Money for Food

Hi there,
My name is Zach, and I am a 20 year old university student living on my own in Canada. I moved out from my parent’s earlier this year due to my worsening mental health and inability to function whilst living with them. It came down to me needing to prioritize leaving in order to preserve my health. This slowed the progress of my studying, and I had to take more credit from my bank. I study health sciences, and plan to go into health care management when I am able to finish school.
This past summer, I was forced to leave my full time job due to COVID, and being diagnosed with depression, anxiety and ADHD. It was all too much for me to handle. So, I went unemployed for the better part of the summer. To survive, I did odd cash jobs under the table for people, but was really kept afloat by my savings and the rest of my line of credit. I finally got a new, permanent full time job in October, but my first paycheque has been held.
My rent has been consistently late, my phone bill is still due, and now my bank is looking for more payments. It has been increasingly frustrating to just barely be scraping by every week, when I’m working so hard to get out of this mess. The bills of course can wait, but my accounts are beyond dry, so I really have no way of getting myself fed.
However, I will finally be paid my first full paycheque this week and so will be a bit better off then, but until then I still need to eat.
Yesterday, I finished the last of my food, and have a near empty fridge. I am not asking for a large sum, but just enough to buy some food to hold me over. I don’t really have anyone else to reach out to, since my family is worse off than me and my relationship with them is not good.
I am eager to continue working, get back on my feet and begin to become more financially stable. I plan to continue giving to people in need whenever I can afford it.
