My mother, Elena Pichurova, suffered a stroke in a London hospital on January 31, 2019. She arrived at the hospital in good health and was prepared to undergo abdominal surgery to remove a growth. The surgery was successful but as the surgical staff began to bring her out of anesthesia a member of the medical team administered the wrong medication which triggered a stroke.
The stroke damaged her brain, leaving her unable to move the right side of her body and unable to speak. She is still unable to walk or verbally communicate as she did before the stroke. The one saving grace is that my mother's beautiful mind and most of her cognitive abilities are still in tact.
My mother is my best friend and my only wish is that she is surrounded by a group of medical professionals that believe in her ability to recover as much as I do. Unfortunately, the costs associated with continuing her care will be very high. Any donation, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated and would help immensely.
We hope that one day she will be medically cleared to be transported back home to Bulgaria.
Lots of Love,
Anelia Bedeleva
