We have had a huge increase this year in dogs and puppies being abandoned. In the last 10 days we have taken in 18 dogs/puppies that would suffer on the streets. Many of the puppies were abandoned in remote places. Our costs at the moment are escalating and we are struggling to finance what the dogs need. Another major issue is that there are no Traces licenced transporters able to take our dogs to their new homes throughout Europe. Usually our dogs move monthly but this is not happening at present. We are working with our municipality to resolve the transport issues and also working towards a wider neutering campaign.
Any help with food, vaccinations and tick treatment would be massively appreciated. It has been a mild winter so ticks are already appearing and we need to take preventative measures so that the dogs do not get tick born diseases, which are costly to treat and can in some cases be fatal.
We will also continue to neuter as many dogs as we can with our dedicated vet. The more dogs we neuter, then the problem will start to decrease with dogs/puppies being abandoned or mistreated.
We will regularly post updates with where your money has been spent. Any help is greatly appreciated and will save the lives of dogs and also prevent puppies being born. Thank you for reading, Emma and Anthony Smith.
