Straight A Student in need to stay in College

Hi, I’m Jae’Dyn Smith an 18-year-old first-year Strategic Communications major here at Howard University on a $19,000 Achievers Scholarship. Within the short time I’ve been here, I’ve accumulated a 3.75 GPA and earned 5 A’s last semester. With all that being said, I’ve reached a stalemate in my education. I have an outstanding balance on my student account of $6.379.50 preventing me from registering for spring semester classes. In order to register for classes and keep my scholarship, I must lower my balance to at least $2,000 by the end of the add/drop period (January 19th). I have sought out numerous scholarships, applied for and been denied countless loans, and am in the process of appealing my FAFSA to receive the Pell Grant. THis GoFundMe is a last resort to garner any assistance or resources possible to keep me in school. During my short time at Howard, I’ve made this place a home and found a community like no other. There’s nothing I want more than to continue my education and feed my hunger for knowledge at Howard, but I am out of options. I deeply appreciate everyone who donates, prays for me, or even takes the time to hear my story.
