Stradley Smith Memorial Fund - CCEP tree & bench

Stradley was a dedicated teacher at UNCG's Childcare Education Program and mentored UNCG student teachers at the center.  Her passion to work with young children, their families, and colleagues was an integral part of her life. In Stradley's memory, we will purchase a bench with a memorial plaque and  plant an Eastern Redbud tree.  The Eastern Redbud Tree was chosen because it is native to this part of the country, it belongs to the pea family so the flowers are edible and the leaves are heart shaped. It also attracts butterflies.

We thought this would be a perfect way to remember Stradley!  The bench and tree will be a part of the outdoor space on and near the playgrounds at CCEP.  We plan to use any funds above the goal as scholarship funds for UNCG students or CCEP families.
