On Sept. 15th Nina and I got the best news, Nina and I found out that we are expecting another child! Everyone who knows Nina knows that her family and children are her world.
God never gives us anything we can't handle.
Nina didn't want anyone to worry and kept the fact that she had felt a lump in her breast and was getting a biopsy from most of the family.
October 2nd - We were given the news that Nina has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade 3 in her left breast with a tumor that has grown 3x's it's size since it's first ultrasound. It measures over 3 centimeters now.
Oct 9th - The surgeon advocated for an immediate bilateral mastectomy and bilateral sentinel node dissection ASAP. Her case is so advanced in size that the Dr. has scheduled the Surgery for this Friday Oct. 12. The urgency is that the mass is growing at a rate so exponential that to leave it in until the baby was able to be delivered in March may be a death sentence.

Nina is 16 weeks 4 days pregnant today. Her strength through this process for herself our family and our little baby in her belly inspires me constantly. Every day her struggle gets harder and this is just the beginning of the fight.
After Friday she will start treatment. But we don't know until the surgery exactly what treatment would be best for her.
As a family we are struggling with medical, child care and family expenses.
