Stories Of The Sea On A Road To Nowhere

Donation protected
Shooting a documentary / surreal road trip movie from NYC to the FL gulf coast about my very peculiar Hungarian shipate I work with on tankers in the New York Harbor. He's spent his entire career working on the water and traveling the world. His stories are hilarious, bizarre, awkward, crude, and almost unbelievable. He only has his crew to talk to as he lives alone in his apartment in Queens on his time off. In his very loud, robotic Hungarian accent he never stops talking to us, making obsurd jokes and telling us stories of his past or of his misfortunes on his time away from work. This man's stories need to be told to a much larger audience and what better way than on a road to nowhere...or to Florida, set to a rad soundtrack. I plan on driving him down as a "taxi service" in this 1954 Mercury Montery and showing him the REAL Florida. Joe, a quiet and mysterious sax man sits in the back as another passenger along for the ride. Sabi hasn't been able to visit his home in Budapest for 2 years due to Covid restrictions etc. (That might be part 2) and he refuses to travel alone. He is as fascinating as he is frustrating. He is as hilarious as he is a grumpy and worried man set in his ways. He is a simpleton in ways and a genius in others. He is an eccentric, oddball in every sense.

I plan on covering the rest of the film out of pocket, but this 1954 Mercury Monterey listed for sale is the perfect vehicle to get us there. The chief engineer on our ship has offered to make sure this car is mechanically sound. It currently runs and drives fine, but any other costs incurred for possible repairs will also be out of pocket. This account is only for the purchase of this necessary vessel to help set the tone of the movie. A character in itself.
It's a Sun Valley, with the plexiglass roof.... perfect for overhead shots or when we wanna ride with the top down with the top up.
This is going to be a story of his life on the sea told on a road to nowhere.

Any donations can be completely reimbursed upon request after the re-selling of the car once filming is complete. I have two previous award winning short films under my belt and a whole lot of drive to make this movie happen.
