My names is Xavier and I’m 3 years old.

I have lived a happy life until I was 8 months old when I fell ill with pneumonia.

This led to severe complications and my health collapsed with a diagnosis of SMA - Spinal Muscular Atrophy – a genetic neuromuscular disorder that affects motor neurons in the spinal cord causing progressive muscle degeneration and weakness.

The primary symptom I am experiencing is weakness of voluntary muscles and wasting away of muscles hence problems in walking, breathing and swallowing among other functions.

This is a hard life for a 3 year old boy like me. I need daily rehabilitation, a BIPAP respirator to aid my breathing, cough assist to help me coughing and no choking  plus costly drugs that prevent my muscles from complete deterioration.

With your help the drugs were secured by my parents and helped me to improve my body functioning, but there is more than can be done.

A GENE THERAPY THAT CAN SAVE MY LIFE

The Gene Therapy is offered in the GERMANY and it cost over 2.4 million EURO !!!
Needless to say, my parents cannot afford it and this is where I need you and your help !!!
The therapy can be offer to a child up to 15 kilos in weight and I am already 14.6 kilos, thus my time is running out, not mentioning the daily challenges in breathing, eating, moving that my body is struggling with.
