Stop the Windfarms from Broadford to Oatfield
Donation protected
In September 2023 a number of local residents from Broadford and Oatfield met and voiced their deep concerns for the proposed construction of the massive Knockshanvo and Oatfield windfarms across the hills of Broadford, Oatfield and the famous 12 O’Clock hills.
From that meeting a smaller group was formed comprising residents living in close proximity to these proposed turbines from Broadford and Oatfield.
Together we have set out to challenge these proposed windfarms.
We are called Broadford to Oatfield Windfarm Action Group.
The proposal is the construction of 20 in total across two windfarms, each windturbine measuring a staggering 185 metres in height, for comparison, this equates to 5 Bunratty Castles stacked on top of each other!!
The construction and operation of these windfarms would cause serious destruction to our beautiful landscape and have terrible consequences for us the local community, in particular our vulnerable residents, our flora and fauna, and our many protected species.
Broadford, Oatfield and the 12 O Clock hills would never be the same again. The damage would be irreversible and would impact for generations to come.
We want our communities to join together in solidarity and fight this.
We are asking for your support. We are facing a legal challenge with An Bord Pleanála. The financial support we receive will go towards the costs of the consultants required.
