Stop South Fork Electroshocking Rainbow Removal

We are the voice of opposition to Idaho Fish and Games continued electroshocking and removal of wild rainbow and rainbow hybrids from Idaho’s beautiful South Fork of the Snake.

Please help us stop Idaho Fish and Game electroshocking before the South Fork becomes a fraction of the fishery it is today. 

We are raising funds for legal assistance, an economic impact statement, user satisfaction study, informational outreach and cutthroat tributary spawning habitat restoration.

 

Idaho Fish and Game plans on electroshock and removing 12,000+ wild rainbows and doing so until wild rainbows/hybrids  are under 10% of the population. That equals approximately a population reduction of 40%.

With no plans to replace this loss of angling opportunity these efforts will dramatically impact anglers satisfaction for generations to come, resulting in an unprecedented disruption in local and regional economic recreational dollars. Not to mention the loss of what has become part of the fabric of diversity that anglers from all over the world travel near and far to celebrate. 

Hotels, restaurants, lodges, gas stations, equipment retailers and the resulting employment will take a dramatic hit as anglers flee the South Fork for more productive waters. Local and regional economies such as Swan Valley, are heavily dependent on revenues generated by anglers and will economically suffer as long as IDF&G artificially suppresses fish numbers in the South Fork.
