Stoneman Douglas HS Art Therapy

The purpose of this fundraiser is to purchase art materials for the students of Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida as an outlet upon their return to school after the tragic event of the mass shooting that took place on February 14th, 2018.
I am Denise Desiderio and live in Havertown, PA, but a friend of mine, Adeena Teres, is a Science teacher at Stoneman Douglas High School. We have known eachother since childhood and graduated from high school together in Pennsylvania. I reached out to her to see how I could help, and because I am an art teacher, she expressed a need for art materials for this purpose.
The students, faculty, and staff of Stoneman Douglas High School have been dealing with an unimaginable trauma. When students return to school, they will be creating expressive works of art to help cope with pain and mixed emotions and to help begin the healing process. Students will also have the opportunity to thank the SWAT team and police officers who risked their lives to save them.
The art materials will be purchased and shipped through Blick Art Materials to Parkland, Florida. They have generously discounted the order for this great purpose. The above amount is for the quoted price for the following materials:
60 sets of markers
5 reams of 12"x18" paper
5 rolls of mixed-media paper
200 sets of colored pencils
20 3lb. packs or air dry clay

Any extra money raised will go towards additional art supplies for the students and teachers. All money raised will directly be used to pay this invoice.
