Stoltzfus on Mission to Exuma

This summer we are hoping to travel to Exuma as a family to do some missions work running a local VBS (Vacation Bible School) program. We will be going with a non-profit organization, which our church partners with, called Starve Poverty International. 

A little about Starve Poverty and Exuma -
Starve Poverty has been serving in Exuma for the last 20 years through different construction projects and with church partnerships to organize school progams and vbs. This will be the third trip focused on vbs. Many of the families on the island do not have electricity or running water in their houses. During the summer there are no programs or activites offered for children and often they will be left alone to fend for themselves. The vbs programs gives them a safe place to go with food and fun! A bus picks the kids up and takes them back home after the program. Many of the kids look forward to this as the highlight of their summer. Due to lack of transportation and lack of churches on the island, this is the only time during the year many of these kids get to learn about God. We hope to share the love of Christ with over a hundred kids this summer!



A little about our family -
Tristan and I have both been serving in our churches since we were young. After we were married we moved to New Jersey where I became the children's ministry director of a local church. When our kids were born we knew we wanted them to grow up understanding the importance of serving in church and serving as a family so they have been helping alongside of us since they were born! Both of our kids spend countless hours at church not only learning and playing but serving. From the littlest of things such as turning on/off all the lights to helping prepare for our vbs program, these kids understand and love to serve. We can't think of a better way to encourge them to grow in their desire to serve God and in their relationship with Him and for us to grow closer as a family then for us to serve on a missions trip together!

We are trying to raise enough funds to cover our flights to and from and our expenses with Starve Poverty while on the trip. Any amount you feel lead to give would be more than appreciated. And more than money, we would love your prayers as we begin this journey together.
