Still Waters Never Crash follows Dr. Sharrica Miller's resilient journey from foster care to PhD. This film details the 12 years Dr. Miller spent in and out of foster care, humanizes birth parents, demonstrates representation among doctorally prepared nurses, tells LGBTQ stories about family and illustrates the power that lies in forgiveness.
Over the course of nine months our team worked relentlessly to film eight locations in two different states. We invested our money and resources to shoot the film but now need help crossing the finish line in post production.
The $5,000 will be used for an assistant editor, original music, marketing, private screenings that include in depth Q&A sessions and film festivals; there are over 3,000 film festivals and the average submission fee is $40.
