Steve's Hurricane Harvey Recovery

On August 26, 2017 my brother Steve Canion (who lives in Ingleside, TX  and offices in Port Aransas, TX) was severely affected by Hurricane Harvey.  He has owned his own business working as a chiropractor in Port Aransas for the last 28 years.  His office was destroyed with 3 feet of water, and he has had to completely vacate that space.  He has been driving from Ingleside to Port Aransas every day (1 and1/2 hours each way due to the island ferries being down and massive traffic) to pull everything out of the office space....and bleach all the contents due to the contaminated waters that flooded the office.  Two nights ago he slept on a cement slab with his two dogs at Schlitterbahn.  He now has his office equipment and supplies stored in various friend's houses and in the damaged first floor of his house in Ingleside.  He currently has water only in Port Aransas....and no water, electricity or sewer in his house in Ingleside.  I live in Austin, TX. and have offered numerous times to drive to the coast and help him, but he says it is too dangerous....like a "war zone"...with sewage contaminated waters, sharp objects all over the ground, and of course lots of mosquitoes, spiders, etc...  He told me on the first day he stepped on a nail...and has been bit numerous times by mosquitoes and spiders...and even a dog.  He has been having to keep his own dogs for long periods of time in his car due to the ground being too dangerous for them to walk on. He is most worried that if and when he can get his office pulled back together in the coming months....that there will be no patients left who will come to see him.  The island of Port Aransas is destroyed for the most part, and it will be a very long time before it returns to any form of normalcy.  Unfortunately for my brother, his bills will continue to roll in....with or without income.  He has some money in savings, but that will run out soon.  He spent all day yesterday trying to apply for financial aid, but was told there was none available for self-employed individuals. He may be faced with not only losing his business in Port Aransas....but also losing his home in Ingleside.  He is in desperate need of financial help to be able to pay bills until he can get his feet back on the ground....anything you can contribute would be deeply appreciated.
