Steven's recovery and medical expense fund

On Sunday, August 25, 2019, my brother, Steven Correa was on his way home from work while riding his motorcycle. The unimaginable happened next; a driver, who was under the influence, failed to stop and made a left turn in front of Steven. Unfortunately, he was hit.

Steven survived the accident but sustained many injuries. We thank God people stopped their vehicles to help him including a man who took off his belt to tie it around Steven's leg to stop the bleeding, a woman who put a blanket under him to stop the Phoenix pavement from burning his skin, a woman who gave him water, the group of women who put hands over him praying while they waited for the paramedics.

Due to the point of impact, the damage to his leg was beyond repair. In order to save his life and control the bleeding the doctors had to do a below the knee amputation. Steven spent the next week in ICU because of complications. He needed surgery to repair his broken left hand, broken clavicle, and a severe shoulder separation. He has had multiple surgeries to his leg and continues to need additional surgeries in hopes of keeping it to a below the knee amputation. He has had and continues to need multiple blood transfusions. After the hospital stay he will have to go to a rehabilitation facility to help him with the changes in his life. Steven is in lots of pain but is thankful he is alive.

We are not sure how long Steven will be out of work because of this accident. Steven has 2 children; a son who is 21 months and a daughter who is 3 months old and a wife who loves him dearly and has not left his side. We would like to help collect funds for Steven and his family because of the financial hardship that they will be facing. Funds will be used to help with medical equipment, bills, mortgage, baby supplies, expenses and modifications to his home to help with accessibility.
