Steven's Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Steven is an incredibly talented 8th grade student at Hillwood Middle School. After suffering a head injury during his very first football game last year, an unrelated mass on his brain was discovered called a "cavernous malformation." For a year, the mass didn't grow, but recently, it grew considerably and is causing bad headaches and will soon lead to seizures and become life-threatening. His brain surgeon at Cook Children's Medical Center will perform major brain surgery the first week of June with considerable risks and possible long term effects to prevent the mass from moving any closer to his brain stem. Steven's mother is a single mom working at Wal Mart and supporting both Steven and his elementary school-aged brother on her own. She will need as much help as possible not only paying for the extreme medical expenses (which have already begun), but supplementing her income while she takes several months off of work to be with Steven during his recovery. Please consider donating, sharing this link and praying for Steven and his family during this time. He is an incredible kid with an even more amazing story. He has great faith in God, but they need help from the community at this time. All of the funds donated are going directly to
Ms. Maricela Valdez, Steven’s mother, to help their family during this difficult time.
