Gregory Daniel “Greg” Packish, 47, died unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at his home in Edgartown. He was the son of Richard F. and Noreen J. (Bettencourt) Packish, and father of Steven G. Packish.
Greg left behind loving family members and friends, most importantly his son Steven.
Everyone that knew Greg, knew that his dogs were at the center of his universe. Even if you didn’t know Greg personally, you probably knew his beautiful dogs. 4 Cane Corso’s adding up to almost a thousand pounds of dog under one roof, eating better home cooked meals than most people. Greg’s love and dedication for his pack was hard to match. Greg’s love for the Cane Corso breed inspired him to create a reputable breeding program. Tank and Bella’s offspring now residing from Martha’s Vineyard to Saudi Arabia, and places in between.
Tank, Bella, Blue and Lovie all now belong to Greg’s son Steven. As his next of kin, Steven has been left with a mountain of responsibility from, finances, to assets and Greg’s pack. Of course this is a highly unexpected and unrealistic situation for most people to be able to manage on their own. To help and take some of the stress off of Steven during this incredibly emotional and difficult time, a team of Greg’s closest friends and dedicated dog lovers have teamed together; Making sure the dogs are getting around the clock care and love, as well as continuing they’re important diet and exercise.
Steven will not be able to keep all 4 dogs, and the breeding program will no longer continue for Martha’s Vineyard Cane Corso. Each dog will be placed into loving homes with close friends, as well as with Steven. Our goal is to set these dogs up for success, leaving Steven nothing to worry about financially for at least 6 months. Before the dogs can go to their new homes, they will need to be sterilized and vetted. Each dog will also participate in a board and train program here on Martha’s Vineyard with Rise and Shine K9, to ensure they’re ready to go into pet homes and succeed.
Any additional funds left over after the dogs have gotten everything they need, will go directly to Steven. Any contribution that can be made during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
