Help Steve Battle The Costs Of ALS

We have created a GoFundMe page to help Steve Studebaker raise money to help him and my mother, Michelle Studebaker, battle the costs of Steve’s ALS. In 2016 my step-father Steve Studebaker began to lose mobility of his arms and hands. In July 2017, he was formally diagnosed with ALS by The Cleveland Clinic. He will be 63 this October. Steve is one of the kindest, most hard working people I have ever met. He has worked since age 11. He has never asked for a handout. He has always been the person there to help anyone who needed help with anything. Even after retiring, he worked at a body shop to help out because he loved working with his hands. At the end of 2016, Steve was no longer able to work. He had lost the use of his hands and arms, and now is losing the mobility of his legs. This has caused my mother and Steve the need to get a power wheelchair and a mobility van. His chair, due to the ALS, needs to have many specialized capabilities. My mother has had to decrease her hours over the last year and will begin 16 hours a week starting next week and trying to fill in with home health in order to have someone home with Steve morning, noon, and evening to take better care of him and help with his essential basic needs. BILLS & EXPENSES: Steve went through 2 surgeries that were not the solution as they did not properly solve the problem before doing the surgeries. He was misdiagnosed multiple times. He had to pay the medical bills from those 2 surgeries after what insurance covered. The power wheelchair is costing $8,000+... We know a minimum of $1500 of that insurance won't cover and they are waiting on insurance companies to reply. The used mobility van they got is $35,552. He has occupational, physical, and speech therapy with those bills as well as quarterly visits to the physician with those bills. He has a respiratory assessment coming up and will have that bill. The expenses and bills are adding up and they desperately need our help. Even if you can just donate five dollars to help, it matters and it is greatly appreciated.
