Many of you know that this time last year my wife Claire was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We are lucky - Claire's symptoms meant we caught it early and after surgery and thanks to continuing treatment she is well again. Emotionally it has been a tough time for all our family including the girls. Breast Cancer Now (At the time Breast Cancer Care) provided information and support for Claire and for all of us to help us understand what was happening and to cope practically and emotionally with what was a frightening time. Potentially 1 in 8 women will face that diagnosis at some point in life and so it isn't surprising that many of us know more than one person affected by Breast Cancer - funding research into treatments and providing support for everyone affected are causes that matter to us.

This year, around 55,000 women and 350 men will hear the words ‘it’s breast cancer’. And this month, nearly 1,000 people will have their lives cut short by the disease. That’s someone every 45 minutes. Breast Cancer Now believe that if we all act now, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live – and live well. It’s time to act.
