Steve Brown's Medical Fund

In March 2017, Steve Brown was diagnosed with ALS. ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It is a devastating progressive neuromuscular disease also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. It causes the neurons that control muscle movement to die. This leads to muscle atrophy: difficulty in moving, speaking, swallowing, and breathing. Currently there is no cure  for this terrible disease. In only a few months since being diagnosed Steve has slowly gotten worse. He is at the point where he has lost most of his mobility. The advanced stages of ALS care are known to cost up to $250,000 a year! 

My goal for this gofundme page is to help Steve and his family deal with the rising medical expenses.  Steve has a wife Kim of 35 years and 4 amazing children, Steven(and his wife Erin),  Michael,  Melanie, and Chris.  Steve also has two grandsons, Cooper and Wyatt.

Many know him working at Pioneer Auto Body in Medford for 36 years. Now because of this terrible disease he was forced to unexpectedly stop working. He has now been out of work for a year.

The family would like to buy him a handicap van as well as a wheelchair that is able to lift him up. 

Good news is there is medication that can help Steve. Unfortunately, it can cost up to $14,000 PER MONTH.

I just hate seeing this wonderful family suffer. I know this money would be greatly appreciated.  There are many that love him and looking for ways to help him and his family at this time. I have set up this page so we can do just that. Between the medical expenses and specialized equipment, the financial aspect of this disease is becoming an added burden.  We know Steve is strong. I hope having everyone's support and love will definitely be able to put a smile on his face again.
