Small Business Relief Fund will match up to $500 of donations to help small businesses negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds raised will benefit the mission of Stepping Stones Christian Bookstores in Grinnell and Marshalltown, Iowa. Our mission is to further God's Kingdom in the communities we serve and to help others along their faith journey.
We were mandated to be closed starting March 27th by the Governor of Iowa. We will begin being open limited hours starting on Monday, May 18th. We will be open in Marshalltown on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am - 4 pm. We will be open in Grinnell on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to noon. We will be available outside those hours by appointment. Weekly schedules will be posted at each location and also on our Facebook page. Please call first to verify we are open and to setup an in store appointment as we are limiting to four people. We ask our customers to wear face masks and gloves. If you do not have them, we have a limited supply and can offer one per customer. If you are not feeling well or have a fever, please do not come into the store. We will continue to take phone orders and do curbside delivery to those who feel more comfortable doing it that way.
This has had a dramatic effect on our sales; however, we are so thankful for all the phone sales and encouraging words and prayers. Our customers have made it very clear that they want us to stay in the communities we serve.
The funds raised will be used to pay for continued business expenses such as utilities, rent, business loan payments, taxes, inventory purchases, telephone and internet and other business expenses. We anticipate a slow recovery, so continued support of our mission will be very welcome!
If you are able and willing to help in this way, your gift will be a great help to our continued mission. Any amount will be greatly appreciated! These are unusual times that none of us anticipated. Although difficult to ask for support, so many have communicated to me how important our business is to the communities we serve. So this is merely an opportunity for those who are interested in helping us during this very difficult time.
We still want to serve you, please consider calling in your phone order. You can either arrange for curbside pickup by appointment or arrange for shipment to your home for the cost of shipping. And, starting Monday, May 18th (see above hours and days), we can start serving you in store again!
