Stephanie Hicks-Mbay is a licensed Registered Nurse for over 20 years who started her career working as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and has devoted her entire life caring for others. Early this year, she became the part owner of a Certified Nursing Assistant School “LINC Health Training Center” to further her passion in uplifting others and helping them fulfill their own dreams and goals of becoming healthcare professionals.
Stephanie is a devoted wife and mother who has raised four children. She has two adult children, her youngest son Ibrahima is entering his second year at Boston College and youngest daughter Soukay is now a senior at The Masters School.
Stephanie underwent Left Total Knee Replacement on 4/26/2017 at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Her Surgical Team, Physical Therapists and Nurses followed her through her post-operative care in an attempt to achieve her post-operative goals. Stephanie continues to participate in Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, Pain Management, Home Exercise Plan and Passive Motion Treatment. In summary, she has followed all of the recommendations from her health care team and planned to return to work by the end of June 2017’.
Unfortunately, she has experienced a set-back, which has slowed down her recovery resulting in limited functional status prohibiting her from returning to work as anticipated. In an attempt to improve her range of motion to her left Knee she was required to undergo a second procedure, Manual Manipulation of Left Knee on 6/30/17. At this time Stephanie remains at home with chronic pain, limited range of motion in her left knee with limited ambulation and mobility.
This unforeseen set-back has prevented Stephanie from returning to work as scheduled. As a result she has over utilized her paid time off, which has led to a depletion of her financial resources.
Stephanie, a person who has given unconditionally to so many and has dedicated her entire life to caring for others, now needs our help. We ask that you join us and support her through this financially challenging time. As a caring community, we believe your contribution big or small, will enable Stephanie to continue receiving the proper medical care and at the same time fulfill her financial responsibilities.
