Stephanie’s Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
I have been battling triple negative breast cancer recurrence since Summer of 2017, after being in remission for 6 years. Since then I’ve had 7 recurrences, 6 surgeries, 2 rounds of chemo, 25 radiation sessions, numerous doctor visits, scans, blood draws and biopsies.
July 2019 I found out the cancer had spread to my auxiliary lymph node & lungs which is considered stage IV metastatic breast cancer, which has NO CURE but can be treated.
I’ve been in a clinical trial chemo treatment since August 1, 2019. I’m thankful to be in this trial as I was only the 2nd person in the US to be in this trial. I’ve had some lows & highs so far on this chemo but it’s keeping me alive.
I found out in December 2019 that I will be on chemo for the rest of my life. The cancer I have is very aggressive & fast growing. I’ve had 2 new lymph nodes near my neck enlarged where I could feel them & biopsy in December 2020 shows cancer. PET scan shows cancer in chest nodules & right clavicle.
I have not been able to work since October 2017, and in October 2018 I was laid off my job of 13 years while undergoing radiation. I’ve been on Social Security disability since then.
I am doing this fundraiser to help subsidize the cost of my medical insurance, co-payments, scans, rides to medical appointments and miscellaneous medical expenses so I can continue receiving cancer treatment. It also is helping me cover life insurance for my “end of life/burial” costs so my family won’t have this financial burden. I appreciate all of your donations and the support. This has been a difficult time for me and this is a tough thing to ask for. I’m very prideful & this is very humbling. I’ve Fundraised many times for various cancer organizations over the years, but this time I am the one needing the help. Thank you very much.
With gratitude, Stephanie
