Help Stephanie on her fight against cancer

Donation protected
On the 22nd September Stephanie and her family had their worlds turned upside down when at only 33 years old she was sadly diagnosed with cancer. Originally at first diagnosis, Stephanie was told it was sarcoma, but that further tests would be needed to determine what type of sarcoma it was and to check if it had spread.

After receiving a pet scan and further external pathology reports, she was called back in to meet with consultants again on the 10th October. This meeting was when she was devastatingly told it wasn’t actually sarcoma she had, and that the goalposts and treatment they originally hoped for had now changed as they had discovered she had a very rare cancer called Extra skeletal renal rhabdoid cancer and unfortunately now also had confirmed secondary cancer as it had spread to her lymph nodes.

She now faces a long road ahead and will become extremely unwell with months of the strongest chemotherapy there is while staying in hospital for 18 weeks. After this initial 18 week course of chemotherapy, she will be then given another pet scan to check if the cancer is stable enough for her to undergo surgery and after that she will more than likely be given more chemotherapy.

I have been best friends with Stephanie for nearly 30 years and I know what proud people her and her family are. They wouldn’t and will not ask for anything but after having to step back from the salon to focus 110% on this fight ahead, Stephanie has now lost the income she worked so hard for to provide for herself and her son Logan. Unbelievably at the moment all she is receiving from work is statutory sick pay while waiting on other help available which takes time.

She has also devastatingly been told that she will inevitably lose her hair soon due to the treatment and how invasive it is. unfortunately NHS wigs are not the greatest and to have a bespoke one made to look and feel more like her own hair has been expensive and unfortunately this is not something the NHS cover. Stephanie has spent years transforming her clients hair and making sure they leave the salon feeling amazing and she now deserves nothing less than the best herself.

We all know Christmas is fast approaching too and I would love to make sure her and her son can have the best Christmas possible. The cost of travelling back and forth to appointments with her mum and sister who are also having to take time off there work to be by her side will also be expensive for them.

I know everyone would all agree none of the above are things that Stephanie or her family should need to worry about in the upcoming months.
I’m hoping with setting this up we can all come together and make sure any extra worries that Stephanie and her family might have are taken care of so she can just focus 110% on herself and the fight she has ahead.

Stephanie you have always been the friend to help everyone else out and now it’s time to let us all help you. We are all with you every step of the way
