Syland Gene Stoup made the world a little better on July 27, 2017 when he was born. Since then he has been stealing the hearts of everyone who meets him with his big smile and sweet personality. There is not a sweeter baby than Mr. Syland. He loves to smile, watch Toy Story, and stick his tongue out. Syland thinks his daddy, Clayton, is the best singer in the world. He loves his mama, Trebby, with all his heart.
This tiny family found out some devastating news about their sweet baby. Syland was diagnosed with Metopic craniosynostosis. This diagnosis means that the bones in his skull are fused together and without surgery to un-fuse the bones, his brain will not be able to grow properly.
After learning this about their son, Trebby and Clayton were on the hunt to find the best possible doctors. They finally decided on a doctor in Houston to take care of Syland. Even though it is pretty far, Trebby and Clayton want the best for their baby.
Syland will have to undergo endoscopic craniosynostosis surgery followed by helmet therapy. During the helmet therapy, they will have to travel to Houston or Dallas every two weeks for check ups.
Trebby and Clayton are very young and just starting out in their careers, marriage, and parenthood. Trebby is having to take time off of work to help take care of Syland during this time. They are drowning in medical bills from Syland’s birth and now from his illness. Trebby and Clayton are two of the best parents and Syland is such a sweet and happy baby. They just need a little extra support from their loved ones right now to help get them through this tough time.
