Hours for Ang!

I am raising money for my friend Angela.  We graduated from nursing school together in May 2010 and Ang started working in a local hospital as an amazing nurse.  She had been sick off and on with uncontrollable vomiting episodes and pain.  She was diagnosed with severe gastroparesis - a condition where the stomach basically stops working.  After months of being in and out of the hospital and unable to work since December 2010, Angela finally had a drastic and major surgery to remove 90% of her stomach in May 2011.  Since then she has been back in the hospital several times for the vomiting and pain.  She \"officially\" lost her job and health insurance in July 2011 and now needs another major surgery to repair a huge hernia in her abdomen that is believed to be the reason she is not able to eat or drink anything without being in pain.  If she can\'t eat or drink, she can\'t get her strength back so she can get back to being a nurse - a career that she worked SO hard to have. 

The money collected will go towards the surgery Angela needs to have.  We are looking into resources for her getting this surgery.  She has applied for both Medicaid and Disability though has not been approved for either and will likely be denied the first time.  Meanwhile, she owes thousands and thousands of dollars for medical/hospital bills from the past year, including a few trips to the hospital after her insurance coveraged ended. 

Supporters can also help by donating an hour of their pay, praying for her, and spreading the word to others.  If we can all get everyone we know to donate one hour of their pay to help Angela, we might be able to get her back to the business of helping others...which she so desparately wants to do.
