Stay Strong Sabz

Here’s a little insight into my fiancée Sabrina and her story. Coming up to almost 6 years ago now, Sabz had to undergo a kidney transplant because she was very close to losing her battle from a kidney condition she had called IgA Nephropathy. With the love of her mother who saved her daughters life Sabrina’s mum Dawn gave Sabz a kidney.
Being a kidney transplant patient Sabrina had been put on medication for life in order to keep her alive, one of these tablets being immune suppressants as having a kidney transplant makes her vulnerable.
The year 2020 came, our dreaded covid year and Sabrina isolated due to vulnerability. In August 2021 Sabrina caught covid where at times she felt like she wasn’t sure she was going to make it, but managed to kick covids butt and come out the other side.

Then the worse happened…
Sabrina got admitted to hospital February 2022 to what the hospital thought was a UTI and Gastroenteritis and was later sent home with antibiotics.
A few days of taking the antibiotics and she became violently sick with them. To which I (her fiancée) decided to call 111 again. Sabrina’s stomach developed like a balloon… the best way to describe it was that she looked 9 months pregnant.
Sabrina was then admitted to the emergency department where she had blood tests an ECG and a CT scan on her stomach….

That’s when the dreaded news came… the news no parent, lover, family or friend would ever want to hear.
That’s right. The C word….. cancer. And so we were told she had developed cancer on her abdomen and womb, to then be further told that it’s incurable and inoperable due to not being able to fully cure it.

Saturday 26th 2022 Sabrina gained her angel wings. She fought and fought and rapidly deteriorated, her kidney function failed and unfortunately her kidney failed her before anything else did.
The hospital were so focused on treating the cancer and finding out where the primary start of it all was that I believe they missed focusing on her kidney at the same time even though we told them she has a rare kidney disease
Sabrina took a rapid turn within hours and collapsed in my arms, she fell into cardiac arrest where they tried resuscitation on her for 25 minutes and myself and her parents held her hand for the last five minutes until they made the decision “okay we’ll stop there” and they couldn’t continue.
I’m absolutely broken.

This GoFundMe me page was originally made to use the donations for something Sabrina could do when she was allowed home from hospital (which we were told she had just under 1 to 2 years to live… not knowing it was going to be only a week)

Every single donation made on this page will be put towards a beautiful funeral for a beautiful fiancée of mine and daughter and friend of many others.
Sabrina was and is so loved and I will forever cherish every moment I had with her

She’s the brightest star in the sky.

Thank you so much to those who have been so thoughtful, caring and written so many kind, loving, supporting messages.

To my gorgeous fiancée Sabrina,
I miss you and I love you so much. This isn’t goodbye but it’s simply see you later.
I look up to you daily and I know you’re looking down on me. I hope I can do you proud baby. I love you !
