Stay Strong Christina!

Hi everyone! I am starting this account on behalf of my sister-in-law Christina. Christina was admitted into the hospital on Dec 17th and diagnosed with Shiga toxin-producing E.coli. Her condition has continued to decline over the past week. She now has hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) from the Shiga toxin that the E.coli produced in her body. Her kidneys have since shut down from the HUS. On Friday she was taken to the operating room to get a 'port' placed in her chest to begin dialysis treatments. She is recieving dialysis each day now. She has a very long road ahead of her. Christina is not only my sister-in-law, but my very best friend. She is a mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend to all. This woman will give anyone the shirt off her back. She is a fighter and tries to remain in good spirits. She is a nurse and works two jobs. She will be out of work for quite some time and finacially this will take a toll on her family. Lenny (her husband) will also be missing work at times to be with his wife. We are not the type of family who usually asks for help, however we have been met with this unfavorable incident.
