The 2017 Newfound Regional High School field hockey team just finished an amazing season, having gone undefeated through 17 games and winning the Division III State Championship!
This group of extremely dedicated young ladies started their season with a dedication and work ethic that proved to be unparalleled.
The team consisted of 18 players, an excellent manager, and 2 dedicated coaches. Seven of the core players were Seniors on the starting line, who proved to be experienced leaders for their teammates. In the past four years these seniors have constantly improved in the sport they love, having been knocked out in the first round of playoffs their Freshman year, second round their Sophomore year, and third round their Junior year.
This year was one for the record books. The team finished their year as the first team in Newfound history to complete a perfect season. They did this all while not having access to their home field (which was deemed unsafe and is in the process of being repaired), practicing daily on a small section of the baseball field, multiple personal emergencies, car accidents, and family deaths. No matter the circumstances these young ladies always had their eye on the ultimate prize that they have been working towards since they first picked up a stick.
All of their hard work has given them a memory that they will forever cherish.
We would like to recognize their hard work and determination with the purchase of custom state championship jackets. These are custom made jackets that come at a high cost. Please consider supporting this amazing team! We will need to raise the funds by the deadline of November 30th.
