Support SEN Space Care and Respite Services CIC

Donation protected
There is very little support available in Northern Ireland for families with a child with a disability. We know this first hand. Julie being an SEN teacher and Vikki having two children with disabilities. Vikki has been looking for support services for over 10 years and has never had adequate provision for herself, her children with disabilities, or her other children.
We have been friends for 8 or so years, and always spoke about changing the way families and children with disabilities are treated in Northern Ireland. We wanted to give them the same quality of life, support and provision as other children and families who don’t have the everyday struggle of having a disability, or caring for a child with a disability.
We want to change this and this is what we plan to do!
We hope to provide support and services, not only for the child, but also the siblings and parent carers. Having a child with a disability is life changing, and these families struggle to do what other families take for granted each day. Little things like food shopping, going to the park or cinema or having friends over. To have a full night sleep or a meal at the table. These families, their children with disabilities, and their siblings, have some of the highest rates of mental health issues in the UK because of the lack of services and incredible stress they endure on a daily basis. Unlike other situations, these families lives will never change. They will always be caring for their disabled child. This is why we need to support them or their journey and give them a better quality of life. We hope to provide afterschools and weekend clubs for the children with disabilites, to provide some well deserved respite for the parents and siblings. We want to provide sibling support sessions to help these amazing children, who are usually carers themselves, feel empowered, more resilliant, by bringing them together with other children in the same situation as themselves and supporting them. Youth club for teenagers with disabilities to help them learn how to socialise, and provide moments of happiness, fun and enjoyment. Because that‘s what being a teenager is all about! We want to support parents with coffee mornings, support groups, training and social events. We want to look after the whole family and support them in the best ways we possibly can on their journey.
Please help us. We are a non profit organisation, awaiting charitable status, and every penny we raise goes directly to these amazing families. The more money we raise, the more families we can help. It’s that simple. Thank you for your support ❤️
