Starry Night CANstruction

Want to help us alleviate hunger in the Chicago community? Consider supporting the 2017 Canstruction® Chicago event!
 Over the last decade, SmithGroupJJR has been participating in CANstruction(www.chicago.canstruction.org), a food drive benefitting the Greater Chicago Food Depository (www.chicagosfoodbank.org).  In 2016, Canstruction Chicago collected over 90,000 lbs of non-perishable items for the Food Depository’s network of 650 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and programs throughout Cook County. 

This year, SmithGroupJJR is fortunate to team up with Berglund Construction and Boldt to raise awareness of the food insecure in the Chicagoland Area through the creation of structures made entirely of canned food. This year, our 10' x 10' structure will be a twist on VanGogh’s “Starry Night” with the Chicago skyline surrounding it. It will be on display at the Merchandise Mart from August 9th - September 5th, so be sure to stop by to check it out!
