Starr Porter Hurricane Recovery

Thank you to everyone who has offered help and sympathy at this time. My car was ruined in the hurricane and my landlord terminated my lease yesterday due to the house being uninhabitable because of damage and mold. This storm has definitely been more devastating than I could have imagined. I am currently in the hospital being treated for a lung infection caused by mold exposure. It’s times like these that really put things into perspective. I feel blessed that we were able to evacuate and were not in the house when it happened. I am also really humbled by the love and support of my friends. I apologize for not being able to get back to everyone. For all of those who have offered help. Thank you ten thousand times. I honestly am in shock and don’t really know what help to ask for. To be homeless without transportation with two children and no money is terrifying. I feel so sad for all of the others affected but I know things will get better. I know everyone will come back from this. Bless

I am out of the hospital and starting to feel better.  The brain fog that the mold created has started to lift and I am beginning to prioritize the steps it will take to recover from this.  Many of you have reached out offering financial help and asking how to get it to me.  It feels weird to accept money but at this time I really don't have a choice.  I need to provide for my children and get things back to normal as soon as possible.  I really feel so blessed thanks to all of you.  I greatly appreciate anything anyone is able to give, financially or energetically.  I feel all of your thoughts and prayers and my heart is so full.  

I will need to find an affordable apartment and eventually a car so any leads on these would be amazing.  My budget for an apartment is around $700/ month.  There really are no words to describe my gratitude.  I love you all!!! And I would love to reciprocate the love with massages, private yoga classes, and Sankofa Designs jewelry and art as soon as I am back on my feet!!
